"A Commitment to Excellence" - and Excellence in Leadership
Vote for Landon!
Hi everyone! I'm Landon Whitehead, and I'm excited to be running for School President at Indian Hill School! I'm in 6th grade and I've been your Class Representative in 4th, 5th and 6th grade.
At Indian Hill, we live by "A Commitment to Excellence," and I want to bring that same commitment to excellence in student leadership. I believe every student's voice matters, and I'm here to listen to your ideas and make them happen!
As your School President, I'll work with our amazing teachers, staff, and Principal to make Indian Hill an even better place for all of us to learn, grow, and succeed together!
I believe that true leadership starts with listening. If elected as president I will make sure everyone's voice is heard and valued.
Bringing a debate camp to Indian Hill has always been a large goal of mine. Through Debate Camp, I will create a space where young people can learn the value of civil discourse, critical thinking, and respectful dialogue. This program will provide training, mentorship, and opportunities to practice debating important issues in a constructive way. By encouraging students to listen, question, and engage with different perspectives, we will help prepare the next generation to be informed, confident, and thoughtful leaders in our community.
I believe learning can be fun, so I love to give students opportunities to have fun while they are learning. I will try to bring weekly fun facts to the morning announcements, possibly a reading challenge with a prize, and maybe even a game day once every six weeks. I might go as far as to accept student's fun facts as a random selection each week.
I believe boosting morale at Indian Hill is a good way to encourage students to work even harder and try to show how much they are appreciated. I will try to add birthday shout-outs to the morning announcements as well as locker decorating contests and maybe even an art wall where students can display their pieces of art. We will change art pieces monthly to ensure the art wall does not get too crowded. I will try my best to make all of this happen but I do not wish for you to get your hopes up until it is officially accomplished. Thank you.
First year as Class Representative - learned how to listen to classmates' ideas and work with teachers to make positive changes.
Successfully represented my class in student government.
Representing my class this year!
With two years of experience representing students, I'm ready to take on the bigger challenge of being YOUR School President!
